Operations Manager


The Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee Operations in our Cromwell Branch. You will be a forward thinker who is open to new ideas and can strategically plan and promote continuous improvement.

Your exceptional verbal communication skills, diverse skill set and "can do, will do" attitude will give you the ability to help to develop and positively motivate our team, and work collaboratively across the Booth's network.  You’ll be a ‘think on your feet’ type of person and thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Being able to comfortably jump on a Forklift, and minimum of a Class 4 truck is a must. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage operations.
  • Oversee and guide the team, ensuring high performance and a safe working environment.
  • Ensure on-time deliveries, pickups, and accurate record-keeping of all consignments.
  • Handle operational issues, troubleshoot problems, and provide timely solutions to minimize disruptions.
  • Oversee inventory management, loading/unloading processes, and reporting.
  • Collaborate across the business and have amazing customer service skills.
  • Implement and enforce compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements.

 

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience in transport, logistics, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team and handle high-pressure situations.
  • Knowledge of transportation operations, fleet management, and logistics systems.
  • Class 4 licence with experience driving on NZ roads.
  • Forklift Licence and experience loading general freight.
  • Excellent communication, time-management and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
