Administrator / Operations Support
The Role
We’re looking for a motivated, high-energy full-time Administrator / Operations Support team member to join our busy Timaru Branch. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role ideal for someone who wants to grow, develop new skills, and build a career in the transport and logistics industry.
You won’t just be sitting behind a screen — this is a varied, active role combining administration, freight handling, forklift work, and general operational support. If you hold a truck licence and enjoy getting behind the wheel when needed, even better!
If you have some transferable skills and want to get a solid footing into the logistics industry, then this is an opportunity to step into a growing part of our business with real career pathways. Hours are typically 30 – 40 hours per week with negotiable start / finish times.
What You’ll Be Doing
- General administration and accurate data entry
- Processing paperwork, PODs, and customer documentation
- Responding to emails and phone enquiries promptly
- Forklift operation – loading and unloading freight
- Supporting the Branch Manager and Drivers with day-to-day operations
- Liaising with customers, other branches, and the wider business
- Checking consignments for damage and correct quantities
- Maintaining a safe, tidy, and organised depot environment

What We’re Looking For
- Previous administration experience (transport/logistics advantageous)
- Current OSH forklift licence and confidence loading/unloading trucks
- Class 4 Truck licence – highly regarded
- Strong attention to detail and excellent customer service skills
- Good numerical ability and accuracy with freight counts
- Experience checking freight and completing documentation correctly
- Clear, confident communication skills
- Physically fit and comfortable working in a busy depot
- A positive, can-do attitude and team-first mindset
- Strong commitment to health & safety
You’ll need to pass a pre-employment medical and drug test, along with ACC and MOJ checks.
