Administrator / Operations Support
The Role
We’re looking for a reliable part-time Administrator / Operations Support team member to join our busy Timaru Branch. This is a hybrid, hands-on varied role supporting day-to-day operations across administration, freight handling and forklift work. If you have a Class 4 licence and enjoy getting behind the wheel from time to time, that’s ever better!
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety, likes early starts, and wants a consistent weekday schedule with afternoons free. Hours are 25 hours per week - 6.00am to 11.30am Monday to Friday with some flexibility required to stay on and get the job done as needed.
Key responsibilities:
- General administration and data entry.
- Processing paperwork, PODs and customer documentation.
- Ensure emails and calls are responded to in a timely manner.
- Forklift
operating - loading and unloading freight.
- Supporting the Branch Manager and our Drivers as required.
- Liaising with our customers, other branches and the wider business.
- Maintaining a tidy, safe and organised workspace.
What we’re looking for:
- Previous administration experience (transport/logistics an advantage).
- Current forklift licence (OSH) and confidence loading/unloading trucks.
- Class 4 Truck licence – highly regarded.
- Attention to detail with exemplary customer service skills
- Good counting and mathematical skills.
- Experience in checking consignments for damage and correct quantities.
- Competence in completing paperwork and keeping in clean and tidy order.
- Fluent in English, with good communication skills.
- A team player with a positive, can-do attitude
- Physically fit and comfortable in a busy depot environment.
- Strong commitment to health & safety.
- You’ll undergo pre-employment medical and drug testing, and ACC and MOJ checks.
