Administrator / Operations Support


The Role

We’re looking for a reliable part-time Administrator / Operations Support team member to join our busy Timaru Branch. This is a hybrid, hands-on varied role supporting day-to-day operations across administration, freight handling and forklift work. If you have a Class 4 licence and enjoy getting behind the wheel from time to time, that’s ever better!

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety, likes early starts, and wants a consistent weekday schedule with afternoons free. Hours are 25 hours per week - 6.00am to 11.30am Monday to Friday with some flexibility required to stay on and get the job done as needed.

Key responsibilities:

  • General administration and data entry.
  • Processing paperwork, PODs and customer documentation.
  • Ensure emails and calls are responded to in a timely manner.
  • Forklift operating - loading and unloading freight.
  • Supporting the Branch Manager and our Drivers as required.
  • Liaising with our customers, other branches and the wider business.
  • Maintaining a tidy, safe and organised workspace.

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous administration experience (transport/logistics an advantage).
  • Current forklift licence (OSH) and confidence loading/unloading trucks.
  • Class 4 Truck licence – highly regarded.
  • Attention to detail with exemplary customer service skills
  • Good counting and mathematical skills.
  • Experience in checking consignments for damage and correct quantities.
  • Competence in completing paperwork and keeping in clean and tidy order.
  • Fluent in English, with good communication skills.
  • A team player with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Physically fit and comfortable in a busy depot environment.
  • Strong commitment to health & safety.
  • You’ll undergo pre-employment medical and drug testing, and ACC and MOJ checks.
